Laser Skin Resurfacing
Cosmetic surgical procedures are performed in our world class ambulatory surgery center, CAREOS, which is dedicated to eyelid, orbital and facial surgery. The facility is located in the office of our parent organization, Texas Oculoplastics Consultants (TOC). TOC’s main office and CAREOS are located on the first floor of Austin Medical Plaza adjacent to the TOC Medical Spa.
The fractional CO2 laser has revolutionized the treatment of skin affected by age, environment and trauma. It precisely and effectively smoothes wrinkles and removes spots and blemishes. With our state-of-the-art laser resurfacing technology, treatments are quicker and gentler than ever before.
TOC surgeons use this laser to remove superficial skin layers precisely, one layer at a time, or to penetrate more deeply to the collagen-producing skin layers to stimulate your skin’s own youthful regenerative powers. Your doctor maintains extraordinary control over the level of laser penetration determined to give you the most extraordinary results. The laser is powerful with a deep range of intensity, yet it is safe enough to use even on the delicate skin of the eyelids.
This state-of-the-art equipment allows non-surgical skin rejuvenation with minimal recovery time compared to traditional laser treatments. Laser skin resurfacing is often combined with other cosmetic surgical procedures including eyelid lift, brow lift, and facial fat transfer. This advanced skin resurfacing technology offers numerous advantages over conventional techniques, including:
The TOC surgical team is committed to extraordinary results for every patient and dedicated to the uncompromising care required to achieve them. As our patient you or your loved one will receive evaluation and treatment by one of our elite oculoplastic surgeons, each with extensive experience in laser resurfacing techniques for the repair and rejuvenation of eye and facial features. Three approaches may be employed:
- Extremely precise control and advanced capabilities
- Lower risk of unpleasant recovery issues
- Typical recovery time after only 4-7 days
- Convenient facilities in our outpatient surgery center
- Integration of multiple procedures as part of a personalized facial surgery plan
ActiveFX™ uses multiple high-energy beams of CO2 laser light to provide superficial spot treatments that leave small intervening bridges of untouched skin to speed recovery and allow a more rapid return to normal activities. This treatment reduces the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture, spots, sun damage, and other blemishes.
DeepFX™ uses narrower beams of CO2 laser to target and penetrate deep dermal layers of the skin to stimulate and accelerate healthy collagen production. In addition to improving overall skin texture, this treatment promotes skin tightening and reduces the deeper, more prominent wrinkles associated with aging and more extensive sun damage.
TotalFX™ combines Active FX and DeepFX treatments to reverse the appearance of aging and damage and improve texture in the upper skin layers of skin and penetrate and target the deeper layers to more thoroughly rejuvenate the skin for even more extraordinary results.
Most procedures may be performed at TOC’s outpatient surgical center, the Center for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Eyelid and Oculoplastic Surgery (CAREOS). Outpatient (ambulatory) surgery helps to reduce hospital costs, personal expense, and length of stay for patients needing surgery. CAREOS is one of the only ambulatory surgical centers in Central Texas solely dedicated to oculoplastic and laser aesthetic surgery. This means we are highly efficient in providing the specific care you need. For those times when surgery is best performed at a hospital, TOC physicians have surgical credentials at all Austin-area hospitals.
We understand that any patient may feel anxious or apprehensive about treatment. Our goal is to help you or your loved one feel at ease. We engage each patient with sensitivity and respect for his or her individual needs.
